… backyard style! It actually went fairly well. I thought it was going to get called off around 9:30 b/c Taylor said all the noises were starting to scare him (crickets, dogs, trucks, partying neighbors, etc), but he dug deep and made it through.

We all actually started off right next to each other b/c it started getting cold – by morning, Taylor had wiggled him and his sleeping bag all the way to the furthest-most corner, and Jordan … well, Jordan didn’t sleep much; which means I didn’t sleep much either. He was rolling around, sitting up, talking to himself in his “sleep,” and not much sleep happened for any of us.

Morning came early … 5:30 kind of early. Both boys jumped up and had to pee, then there was no chance of getting back to rest. 9:00 felt like noon to me today, but the boys say they had fun, and they were geeked up about it from getting picked up after school until shortly after I fixed cinnamon rolls on the grill. It was fun … next time though, the inflatable air mattress is coming along :)

Skate Night!

Well, Jordan and Taylor had never been on skates before, and Jen and I hadn’t had roller blades on since college (almost 10 years), so this was an interesting night! It was a night that started and finished with injury.

Jordan did pretty good, even going backwards once … Taylor looked like a newborn giraffe.

From Jordan kicking Taylor in the eye with his skate to me tripping over Taylor and having my lower leg bend in a way that is not natural … it was a fun evening.

There is no way we could compete for a roller championship with ATL (you know, the movie – Atlanta – skate rink – just watch this).
