We spent most of yesterday afternoon finally getting around to the boys’ room. We started on Taylor’s room and got it all done.

We went to KC to look for housing last weekend. Our intention was to search for homes for rent, but everything we looked at for rent was very much a rent house. We decided to go ahead and look at homes with a lease option, but even most of those were in poor condition.

Lo and behold, the last house we looked at turned out to be actually amazing. Great, manicured, well-kept, upstanding stable neighborhood; brick; privacy fence; deck; wide-open basement; etc. We put in an offer, went back and forth a few times, and finally agreed with the seller on a contract.

As long as everything goes well with inspections, we will take possession on November 23.

Boys only camp out

… backyard style! It actually went fairly well. I thought it was going to get called off around 9:30 b/c Taylor said all the noises were starting to scare him (crickets, dogs, trucks, partying neighbors, etc), but he dug deep and made it through.

We all actually started off right next to each other b/c it started getting cold – by morning, Taylor had wiggled him and his sleeping bag all the way to the furthest-most corner, and Jordan … well, Jordan didn’t sleep much; which means I didn’t sleep much either. He was rolling around, sitting up, talking to himself in his “sleep,” and not much sleep happened for any of us.

Morning came early … 5:30 kind of early. Both boys jumped up and had to pee, then there was no chance of getting back to rest. 9:00 felt like noon to me today, but the boys say they had fun, and they were geeked up about it from getting picked up after school until shortly after I fixed cinnamon rolls on the grill. It was fun … next time though, the inflatable air mattress is coming along
